Brief Introduction to Teachers College

　　As the second-rank college of Eastern Liaoning University, Teachers College grew out of Dandong Normal Higher Technical College and Dandong Teachers School. Now it mainly educates the students working for bachelor's degree, including Chinese Department, Maths Department, Education Department (I) and Education Department ( II ). It offers Chinese Language Literature, Maths and Practical maths, Chinese Teaching for Foreign Countries, Primary Education and Primary Education for Music, all of which have bachelor's degrees. It also has the professions of Secretary concerning Foreign Countries, Primary Education, Elementary Education for Music Training, Preschool Education, all of which are vocational education. There are 1527 full-time students.

　　Teachers College has a long history and all the teachers have good foundation.. There are 107 professional teachers, including 4 professors, 31 associate professors, 16 masters and 2 doctors in studying. All of them affect and teach their students with their noble character and profound knowledge. For many years, the college has been active in science and research work.. Many teachers have written and published academic papers and teaching materials nearly 100. At the same time, 6 professors have received Educational Prize of ZengXianzi and there are more than 10 scientific research programs of the province and the country. The college has more than 20 years experiences for training middle school teachers and 50 years for primary school teachers and has trained more than 2 million teachers for Liaoning province and the country. All these graduates have been working very hard on their posts using their deeply knowledge and professional skills, so many of them have won high praise. Among them there are a lot who have become vocational backbone. Recently, about 90% of the educational newly-emerging forces are the graduates from this college. All these great achievements have laid a foundation for improving the college.

　　The educational results of the college not only received all the organizations' high praise, but won the trust of all the domestic and foreign students.

　　Since 1988, the college has enrolled about 50 bachelors, masters and doctors from British Cambridge University. Two teachers of the college have been invited out to Tong Sea University of South Korea as exchanging scholars and undertook the task of teaching Chinese. As a result, they won high praise.

　　The college has advanced educational theory as well as good teaching environment. Besides, there are modern multi-media classrooms, phonetic rooms, mathematics labs, modern educational-technology labs, micro classrooms, dancing rooms, instruments rooms and computer rooms. Nowadays the college has set up several educational practical bases, such as the Second Senior School of Donggang, Experiment School of Dandong.
