　　The Math Department of teachers college of Eastern Liaoning University is reconstructed on the basis of the Math Department of the former Dandong Teachers' college which was founded in 1978.The undergraduate major is math and applied math .The department is made up of four teaching and research sections. They are the analysis of math, algebra and geometry, the method of math teaching and applied math.

　　For 27 years,58 teachers taught or have been teaching in the department, and 21 of them are professors and associate professors. Now there are 15 full-time and part-time teachers: 1 professor, 8 associate professors and 5 lecturers. 3 of them have received master's degree and 7 are studying for it. For several decades, we have trained thousands of students with high quality and wide knowledge. And they have gained favorable comments from all aspects in society. The teachers proceeded firmly in scientific research, and have gained satisfying achievement .Over 120 academic papers have been published in the periodicals and magazines .More than 10 works and teaching materials have been published and we also participated in nearly 10 research projects in the nature science fund. An item of second-class prize of Educational Research of Liaoning province has been gained and we have also gained the second-class prize and third-class prize of the Technological Progress of Dandong.

　　We are going to proceed in the reformation and development in the innovation. On the developing of Essential math and Applied Math, we have created a new way in local universities: Relying on the Essential math theory, using computers and English as tools, facing the national and provincial human resources market, we are devoted to broadening the connotation of the subject applying, developing greatly the applying research and development to form multi-subjects infiltrate reciprocal and developing. our teaching goal is to train “applying” and “basis” graduates with high qualification .Now, all the teachers in Math Department are making efforts to improve themselves, perfect the condition for running a school and the circumstance of educating students and cultivate qualified graduates. We are working hard to promote the northeast old industrial base and make our country more beautiful.
